Like many other feelings excellence is not a destination, it’s a mindset. A lot of people spend a lot of their time dreaming about how they will achieve excellence in the future, not realising that excellence is now.
Excellence comes when you are ready to make sacrifices and stretch yourself to achieve you’re goal. Not in the future, not tomorrow but right now. Everyday, every hour, every minute, every second.
What are you willing to do? Are you willing to achieve excellence?
I heard this TED talk today driving home from a customer meeting and it really moved me.
This is a real example that shows how unexpected kindness, can impact people far more than we think. Imagine you could be the one, impacting another person profoundly by giving away something as simple as a chicken wing.
Not many people know this but our subconscious mind has incredible powers, that can be yielded to work for us in amazing ways. This post is about one of the ways it can be used.
Some time ago when I did competitive kickboxing I met a woman through work who was a master of mental training. I worked with her a couple of times where we talked about how I could train my mind to become an overall better kickboxer. One of the things I struggled with at the time was disbelief, in my own ability to beat my opponent. My trainer told me something that i still use in many aspects of my life.
- Our subconscious mind cannot tell the difference between a lie and the truth.
- Our subconscious mind controls our feelings.
This means that we can programme our subconscious mind, anyway we want and to a large extent control our own feelings. If you’re about to give the most important presentation in your professional career, or play the most important game or something else that means the world to you, wouldn’t it be better to feel confidence instead of anxiety? Don’t you think you perform better, when you perform like a champion?
In my own example I tricked my subconscious mind to believing that I was the champion of the world in kickboxing, and as a results my subconscious mind started acting like I was the champ. I got calmer, had better breathing and it helped me tremendously to become a better kickboxer.
Next time you face an important task try to do the following:
- Find a place where you are alone and you are sure no one can hear you
- Tell yourself loudly that you are the best in the world, to do the task you are about to face
- Tell yourself multiple times and believe that it is true
Soon you will start to feel the power of your subconscoius mind pushing you, to be the best you can be.
Tell me if this has worked as good for you as it has for me.
It turns out that happy people performs better than, people not being happy. According to Shawn Achor your brain can achieve a 30% performance boost from being happy. Shawn has a 5 point plan from which I have tried to incorporate 2 points into my daily routine.
- Write 3 new things each day that you’re appreciate in your life
- Do 1 act of sincere random appreciation
Up until this point it works well for me, I find it liberating to take a moment every day where my only focus is to appreciate my life. How do you appreciate your life?

Check out this video and listen to what Wolf, a research biochemist, strength coach and author says about The Paleo Solution Diet:
At PowerbyMe we have adapted to the Paleo lifestyle and would recommend it to everyone. Wolf recommends a 30 day tryout period, which is what we did, and we haven´t looked back since. The first week was very hard, the second week hard – but then it became surprisingly easy.
